Plan for after O-lvls

Right, i noe that its still 1 yr be4 O-lvl starts n 1yr 3 wks(i think) be4 it ends. But i think it wont harm to actually hav plans for after O-lvls. So of course the main event would be the CHALET. if we hav a chalet then it would hav been 1 n a half year since our last chalet and i think by then our pockets will be refilled, so pls dont say no money. n by arrangin it earlier, we can "book" u guys first n avoid the last min rush (like always).

K so its after O-lvls so unless u r going overseas then there shouldnt be a reason y u cant come. And u deserve some fun at the chalet after the O-lvls. so thats y we r either booking aloha or aranda. I swear on my life we r nvr getting coastal sands again!

aloha we confirm no prob affording but some of u guys say aranda is quite ex. but i was there this week n it onli cos $250 for 3d2n n everything is worth the money. they just renovated n it is fully interior aircon n its literally a 4 room flat.
Here r some pics i took:

(the bedroom with toilet attached) p.s got 2 bedroom

(part of the livin rm n that table will be our mahjong table)

(kitchen: the girls wont hav to cook pasta in the toilet again)

(The plasma tv is as big as the one in mel's hse, no more small tv!)

but of course aloha isnt that bad either.
so work hard for the O-lvls (though its ages away) and look forward for chalet next year. more info when bookin time comes close.

N now about our Christmas BBQ, phui shan u mind lendin us ur hse?

p.s. mel unless u dont mind, u can volunteer to hav the bbq at ur new hse

we r too stupid for PSLE

ya for those who cousins took the PSLE this year, maybe u heard that the maths paper was a killer. even yahoo news posted about it:
http://sg.news.yahoo.com/cna/20091010/tap-464-parents-arms-psle-mathematics-pa-231650b.html

ya so anyway my dad sent me 2 of the questions n i was like thinking how hard can it get?

here r the 2 questions:

1)Sally baked some cookies to sell. ¾ of them were chocolate cookies and the remaning were almond cookies. After she sold 210 chocolate cookies and 5/6 of the almond cookies, she had 1/5 of the cookies left. How many cookies did she sell?

2)Jane bought a packet of sweet and gave half to Sunny.

Sunny bought a packet of chocolate and gave half to Jane.
Jane ate 12 chocolates, and Sunny ate 48 sweets. The ratio of sweets to chocolates Jane had became 1:7 and the ratio of sweets to chocolates Sunny had became 1:4. How many sweets did Jane buy?

thinks its easy????????

i got 448.21(something like that) for first question n cant do 2nd
Pee got another number with demicals too n didnt bother with the 2nd
my friend got the same for first question n get a negative ans for the 2nd.....
my maths teacher total shutdown(she tio stun)

lol is it really that diff?
i consulted mr boh n he said it was deceptively easy but very tough. u can c can do, cant c gg.

so anyone with the proper solutions pls post up ^^
n good luck to whosever cousins/siblings taking this year PSLE(including 3 of my cousins)

Woohoo I found solution 1 (I think)

(1) :

(5/6)(3/4) = 5/8 [Almonds account for this amount of sales]

(4/5) is the fraction of total cookie sales, so (4/5) - (5/8 from almond cookies) = 7/40

(7/40) is the amount of chocolate cookies sold, so we convert (4/5) to (32/40) to make it easier for our (7/40). Then we have 7/40 = 210 chocookies, 1/40 = 30chocookies. Finally 30x32 to get the total number of sold cookies, which is 960 (ANSWER). Total amount of cookies in all is 1200 fyi, I worked backwards with this and the numbers tally. But it's harder than our '06 PSLE for sure, do this question without drawing diagrams is the equivalent of stapling your eyelids closed.

UPDATE: Found 2nd one

Jane's sweets to chocolate ratio = x:7x

Sunny's sweets to chocolate = y:4y

Jane ate 12 chocolates gives us the equation (x+12) = y ; or (x= y- 12) - [1]

Copy above, Sunny eating 18 sweets results in 4y+18 = 7x - [2]

Sub [1] into [2] and we have: 4y+18=7(y-12)

Simplify to (4y+18 = 7y - 84) and then (3y = 102)

y = 34, and because from the given text and [1] we can see that 2y = Sunny's sweets (sorry I forgot to mention it before)

So the answer is just 2(34) which is 68. See Yahoo's article and 68 is also the answer, whoopee. We'd learnt algebra/ratio in P6 but back then you'd need to be on mental steroids to visualise until liddat. Now why the hell am I doing PSLE questions when my exams are less than a week away....

This is some funny shit.

This is so epic, Ris Low will make history.
She'll be appearing in history books ten years down the road, on why the government banned Singaporeans taking part in Miss Universe and the negative impact on having a low standard of English...

GG to chalet plan

k some of u may not like this, but after much consideration from myself n a few encouragement from others(wont say who), i decided to cancel the chalet thing. ya there is too much uncertainty, n i figured that most(ahem) of us will need more time for revision for olvls(ahem). plus there should be countless remedials during that holi as teachers LOVE to use olvls as an excuse to giv us more. so anyway the chalet's off.

but dont worry, there will be a "after olvl" chalet to look forward to. im sure by then many ppl will hav their wallets refilled n itching to hav some fun.

so as for this coming holi here r a few things im considering which r cheaper(not for some case), easier to organise n i hope, will be well-recieve as the main 6.6 event in the nov/dec holis!

1)christmas or anytime BBQ
ya BBQ! last time's one was a (in my opinion) success n well-recieved. so another shot at it?
2)spam movie outing
im not really considering this after looking at my wallet. maybe 1 major movie will do(though i dont think there's one)
3)outdoor/indoor camping
k this was suggested by my mum. down side, no electric ports, not sure if got tents, but if its indoor camping we might be getting somewhere. camp at kcs? lol
4) 2d1n mahjong clinic at (maybe my hse)
k this is to let those ppl who r crazy over mahjong(addicts?) happy awhile. seriously we havent play mahjong for a long time. n some of us dont even noe how to play(ur wasting ur life ppl!) so maybe overnight at my hse for the "clinic"? onli thing is i hav to mass persuade my parents n u guys hav to put up with both my bros(not a very happy thought)

ya so thats it. giv me some suggestions on chatbox. but i think most will go with option 1. well since these things dont need a reservation, we can start planning when the holidays arrive.

so hey, here are the original pics (: [i like the second one better- the 1st pic looks kinda sparse.]

well anyway, here they are- apparently there is a photoshopped one, not yet uploaded yeah. (won't the photoshopped one look kinda fake though? well, if it doesnt then the person who edited it is pro- haha.)

rather pathetic for a class of 40 people...

but anyway those who came enjoyed ourselves, i'm sure ^^

Teacher's day 2009 ^^

wat a happy reunion we had on teacher's day this monday. turn out was ridiculous. like less than 20. n less than 15 in the photos. zzz. neither less im sure many of us had a good time catching up.

well, getting into the sch was retarded. sean n aaron manage to get in earlier cos they manage to squeeze into the earlier bus but once me yx mel n the others reach the front gate, loads of people literally jam up the corridor at the front gate waiting to sign in, 1 BY 1. salute to the ah mah who went up to us n started spamming insult to newfield(how u spell it?) bout she lack the sense to let us in without signning in. i mean come on, who will try to bomb kcs?
anyway rach n shiting called us n miraculously they said the backgate was open n ungaurded. so a little detour n tada, we went in without signning in or queuing. so much for security....tsk tsk....

canteen food turn out to be unable to full our stomachs n since mr boh got remedial, we went to the coffee shops at block 85(behind kcs) some ate others just bb tea. then we went to the play ground n hav our first group photo taken after 3 years of delaying....

(clicking "upload image" not working for now. will upload asap)

anyway we went bak kcs at 4 to get another photo with both mr boh n mdm lam n ya finally, a class photo! (once again, will upload asap)

then we went to play bb at the court near xy hse. timo's comment on earplugs needed was heard more than once. then cool down after the game, we went on playing truth or dare(no one chose dare though)

still, it would hav been better if
1) we can just walk in through the front gate
2) everyone turn up n take photo together
3) on second thought, maybe not all

ya so thats literally wat happen that day.

i did edit the photo with the teachers in it by throwing in the faces of the ppl not in the photo(i offically hav everyone in the edited one now) though some faces date bak to p6. i shall onli post it once we hav a majority agreement or at least for blogger to allow me click "upload image". those who wan to request their face to be replace by a white square with their name on it can ask me, though i would prefer u show some class spirit.

So, thats all folks! next outin should be chalet again. YA! 6.6of06 ALL THE WAY!
